A round table discussion chaired by Vice Minister of Health and Social Development Salidat Kairbekova took place on the 27th of February on the RCHD premises. The meeting was attended by experts from the ministry, RCHD and international consultants from different components of the World Bank projects. The participants discussed the concept of introducing Social Health Insurance (SHI) in Kazakhstan.
The Republican Center for Health Development has ranked Kazakhstani policlinics based on the results for 2014. The assessment carried out by the specialists of RCHD was aimed at revealing “the best of the best” outpatient care facilities and covered 100 functioning policlinics out of which 92 are of a mixed type, 13 - for adults and 5 – for children. Top lists have been drawn up for each type separately.
Outpatient care facilities have been assessed by certain criteria, such as the level of mortality and morbidity of the population, quality of medical care, etc.
During the enlarged meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director General of the Republican Center for Health Development Erik Baizhunussov presented a draft of the Concept on primary health care. This document will be the guideline on realization of one of the priority directions of the new State program of health development for 2016-2020. The concept aims at introducing drastic changes in the doctor-patient interaction and increasing of the health professionals’ salaries as per the principle: satisfaction of the population = deserved remuneration.
In 2014 experts of the Drug Information and Analytical Centre (DIAC) of the Republican Center for Health Development conducted a survey which revealed the fact that every fourth of Kazakhstani citizen takes antibiotics without any prescription. As a result, the threat of antimicrobial resistance is growing, DIAC specialists say. They suggest using the study findings when developing a set of measures against the antimicrobial resistance together with the Ministry of Health and Social Development (MHSD) of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Today the specialists of the DIAC, MHSD, scientists and representatives of the medical community will participate in the round table discussion dedicated to this problem. It will take place on the premises of the RCHD.
